Not Any Person, Not Any Woman, Not Any Man (March 9, 2026)

The Madam Secretary-General Campaign (Ongoing)
In its 80-year history, the UN has never been led by a woman. This flagship campaign argues that breaking the cycle of male-only leadership is a necessary first step toward structural change, bringing fresh perspectives and practical problem-solving to global crises. “Women leaders are known for active listening, bridging divides, problem-solving, and focusing on impact,” the campaign argues. “They care for institutions while driving change, and they plan resources effectively.” The campaign tracker monitors the coalition of UN Member States that have pledged support for a female candidate.
